In the film, “All The President’s Men” the character known as “Deep Throat” advised the reporters to “Follow the money!” In conducting any investigation- motives are essential to determine what convinced those under investigation to take the actions that they took or inhibited them from taking actions in the first place. My article for “The Social Contract” focused on the various individuals and groups of individuals who are, in a very real sense, profiting from our nation’s ongoing failures to secure its borders and enforce our nation’s immigration laws- laws that were enacted to achieve two critically important goals- to save American lives and save American jobs. These two fundamental goals should make the issue of immigration law enforcement a true “No brainer!” However, unbridled greed can motivate people to do truly horrible things that fly in the face of commonsense and decency. Immigration is certainly no exception!
As a consequence of these failures, our nation’s security has been jeopardized, hundreds of thousands of transnational criminals and gang members have entered our nation and set up operations in towns and cities across our nation and thousands of lives have been lost.
This massive influx of illegal aliens and aliens who have gamed the visa process has also displaced huge numbers of American workers and has cost these Americans their thin slice of the “American Dream,” causing record numbers of American homeowners to lose their homes to foreclosure.
If our government’s failures to secure our nation’s borders and effectively enforce our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!
All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!
We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.
This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!
You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!
Democracy is not a spectator sport!
Lead, follow or get out of the way!
