The current administration is only the latest of a string of administrations who have “played politics” with America’s borders and immigration laws. To the profiteers of immigration, a flood of aliens into the United States is seen as a lucrative source of not just revenue but wealth. To those in the position to exploit the flood of foreign tourists, foreign students and foreign workers the added benefit is the political power that can be acquired through the manipulation of this human tsunami.
HOWEVER– no previous administration has ever before demonstrated the raw and unmitigated chutzpah of the Obama administration to eradicate America’s borders, issue executive orders without the consent of the congress and now has taken the extreme step of bullying those valiant law enforcement officers who are charged with securing our nation’s borders and enforcing our nation’s immigration laws from within the interior of the United States.
The damage being inflicted is profound beyond the comprehension of our citizens or even our politicians. Our national security is being undermined as is public safety. The message being broadcast around the world by the edicts issued by Mr. Obama and key members of his administration is a very dangerous one, indeed. For aspiring illegal aliens from around the world, they are being told that not only will violations of our borders and our laws be tolerated but rewarded!
Republicans who continue to insist that they want to enact “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” simply reinforce the administration’s message. In essence the administration and supporters of Comprehensive Immigration Reform have fired the “starter’s pistol” for aspiring illegal aliens from around the world including terrorists, criminals and fugitives.
On Saturday, February 28th I was a guest on Fox & Friends and interviewed by Anna Kooiman on the broad issue of the risks to America’s national security that are created by our dysfunctional immigration system, especially where the political asylum program is concerned. We also narrowed our focus to the situation that now exists in Minneapolis, MN where a community of 30,000 Somali refugees was established.

Anna began the interview by asking me about the findings of the 9/11 Commission and how it relates to this situation. I was elated that she did this.
The issue of the 9/11 Commission and immigration have been ignored by most journalists and politicians and this is truly the issue that must be taken into account by our leaders. Indeed, I have written many articles about this critical issue- the findings of the 9/11 Commission and how our leaders have managed to utterly ignore those findings and recommendations, thereby undermining national security and public safety.
Our borders and immigration laws are America’s first line of defense and last line of defense against international terrorists and transnational criminals. Those borders are also supposed to prevent the entry of aliens who suffer dangerous communicable diseases or are afflicted with serious mental illness and, as a consequence are prone to extreme violence. Additionally, aliens who are fugitives from justice in other countries, are convicted felons or are criminals who have committed a variety of serious crimes such as murder, rape, armed robbery, drug trafficking, gun running and arson, to name some of those crimes are also to be excluded from the United States as are those who are spies, human rights violators or are war criminals.
Finally, aliens who are likely to become public charges or who if they were to work in the United States would displace American workers or, at the least, drive down the wages and working conditions of Americans similarly employed are to be kept out of the United States.
These grounds for exclusion are enumerated under Title 8, United States Code, Section 1182.
Our immigration laws are fair, reasonable, are commonsense and could not be more fundamental and essential given the nature of the threats America and Americans face today.

While the administration touts the number of new jobs that have been created since Mr Obama has taken office, they ignore fact that this administration has provided millions of aliens who are statutorily ineligible to work in the United States with Employment Authorization Documents (EAD’s) without the legal authority to do so. How Americans pay the price for Obama’s shadow visa system.
Our nation and our citizens face a list of challenges and threats- nearly every one of which is being exacerbated by long-standing failures of our nation to secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws. To be clear, it is not “Anti-Immigrant” to want these two issues to be dealt with effectively. In point of fact, the same immigration laws that mandate the categories of aliens to be kept our of our country and the terms under which aliens should be removed from our country have absolutely nothing to do with race, religion or ethnicity, also provide for the lawful admission of roughly one million lawful immigrants and the naturalization of hundreds of thousands of new citizens each year.
It is therefore a contradiction in terms and thinking to claim that it is “Anti-Immigrant” to support the effective enforcement and administration of our immigration laws
Furthermore, effective enforcement of our immigration laws provides law enforcement and intelligence agencies with the vital opportunity to recruit aliens to work cooperatively to gather intelligence to identify criminal and terrorist organizations. This was, in fact, one of my key responsibilities when I worked with members of other law enforcement agencies such as the DEA, FBI and local and state police.
On November 10, 2014 Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) posted my commentary about this specific issue:
Let us be clear in our thinking, for many reasons- it is “Pro-Immigrant” to be “Pro-Enforcement!”
The many failures of our immigration system are evident to everyone. The fact that there are unknown millions of illegal aliens present in the United States, the fact that aliens who were granted political asylum, lawful immigrant status and even United States citizenship should raise serious concerns about the vetting process that such aliens undergo. The fact that immigration fraud permeates the immigration benefits program provides clear and unequivocal evidence that the division of USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) is incapable of properly screening applications that they adjudicate, thereby enabling terrorists and criminals to enter the United States and embed themselves in communities across our nation.

In his historic speech before the 3rd Army on May 31, 1944, General George S. Patton said, on the strategy of holding a position:
“We’re not holding anything, we’ll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.”
Pushing back against Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the same as holding position. The time has come for us to advance by demanding that our borders be made truly secure and our immigration laws be effectively administered and enforced.
Comprehensive Immigration Reform violates all of the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission but no one is willing to even consider how the lack of real border security and the lack of real integrity to the various components of the immigration system imperil national security and public safety.
The findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission must be the starting point for any discussion about immigration legislation. That commission determined that a lack of border security, including the visa process. and fraud in the immigration benefits program, enabled terrorists to enter and embed themselves in the United States, as they went about their deadly preparations.
Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today! Simply stated, the immigration laws were enacted to save lives and protect the jobs of American workers. In point of fact, our borders and our immigration laws are America’s first line of defense and last line of defense against international terrorists and transnational criminals.
It is not “Anti-Immigrant” to be “Pro-American!”
Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within. The failures of the DHS to live up to its half of the equation are undermining the efforts, valor and incredible sacrifices of Americas men and women who serve in our military!
If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!
All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!
We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.
This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!
You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!
Democracy is not a spectator sport!
