Please forward this e-mail to as many folks as you can and then ask them, in turn, to do the same. I am attempting to create a “Bucket Brigade of Truth!”
On Wednesday, September 24th, I was a guest on “The Daily Ledger” broadcast on the One America News Network. The focus of my discussion with the host, Graham Ledger, was the way that the failures of the administration to enforce our immigration laws from within the interior of the United States as well as failing to secure our borders have undermined national security. Furthermore, even as President Obama repeated the same call issued by former President George W. Bush just days after the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, to deprive the terrorists “safe haven” anywhere in the world, so-called “sanctuary cities” and “sanctuary States” here in the United States are providing safe haven for terrorists and transnational criminals.
This is the link to the video of my interview on Graham’s news program:
Even as I was being interviewed by Graham, FrontPage Magazine posted my column on that same day:
De Blasio’s New York takes a dangerous turn.
It is important that we come to understand the fact that our country’s safety and security rest on the ability of our nation to prevent the entry of criminals and terrorists into the United States and on the ability of our government to thwart efforts by those terrorists and criminals to hide in plain sight and go about their preparations to carry out attacks and crimes within the United States.
What has been ignored by all too many of our nation’s leaders on the federal level as well as on the local and state level is that the missions I have laid out above are, in fact, the primary missions of the immigration laws of the United States.
For the past two decades our nation has been in the crosshairs of international terrorist organizations that are intent on killing as many of our citizens and other present within our borders, as possible. This is not conjecture or speculation.
Deadly terrorist attacks have been carried out inside the United States beginning with the deadly terror attacks in 1993 at the CIA and World Trade Center. Other attacks were either averted by our law enforcement officials, courageous passengers on airliners and elsewhere or failed because of the incompetence and ineptitude of the terrorists.
On September 11, 2001 terrorists carried out the most devastating terror attacks ever conducted on American soil. In response politicians from both the Democratic and Republican Parties kept insisting that “We are fighting them (the terrorists) over there so that we would not have to fight them over here.” That statement was utterly foolish and a massive lie. The attacks that took those thousands of innocent lives were carried out over here. Yet the obvious goal of the politicians was to convince our citizens that committing billions of dollars of resources and ever so many American soldiers to fight battles overseas would be all that we need to do to keep us safe.
The irrefutable reality of course, is that we are fighting them over here. This is why we are carefully screened by the TSA when we board airliners. This is why the Patriot Act was passed. I am not going to engage in a debate about the wisdom of these strategies- but it must be understood that we are very much at risk within our own country because we have unknown millions of aliens currently residing in every town and city across our nation from every country on our planet including countries that sponsor terrorism. Some of these aliens are illegally present while others were lawfully admitted and many have been provided with lawful immigrant status inside the United States.
It is beyond belief that cities and states have declared themselves to be “Sanctuaries” for aliens who violate our borders and our immigration laws and that the federal government, not only under the current administration but under previous administrations, both Democrat and Republican, alike, have utterly ignored these dangerous policies.
Stop and consider that applying the term “Sanctuary” to “protecting” illegal aliens from elements of the Department of Homeland Security” is insane! At any other time of American history, protecting foreign nationals who evaded the vital inspections process conducted at ports of entry or committing fraud in applying for visas- a felony, would be considered treasonous conduct.
In point of fact, Sanctuary Cities operate in direct violation of our immigration laws. Under
Title 8, U.S.C. § 1324, it is a felony to aid, abet, encourage or induce aliens to enter our country illegally or to conceal, harbor or shield aliens who are illegally present in the United States. That same section of law deems any concerted effort to commit those crimes by working in concert with others to be guilty of conspiracy to violate the immigration laws.
Indeed, an individual or officers of a corporation who are discovered to be in violation of this law would most likely be subjected to arrest and prosecution.
If an individual knowingly permitted a fugitive to hide in his (her) home that person would be, appropriately, charged with harboring that fugitive.
Our immigration laws and our borders are, in fact, America’s first line of defense and last line of defense against aliens whose presence would pose a threat to the safety and well-being of Americans and to the national security of the United States.
On Friday, September 19th, I was a guest on “America’s Forum” on
Newsmax TV hosted by JD Hayworth. Shortly after my interview NewsMax posted a video of my segment with a synopsis of our discussion we. The title of this article was:
In discussing the issue of “Sanctuary Cities” and the impact such policies have on national security I referenced the fact that New York City’s mayor Bill De Blasio had decided to provide illegal aliens with identity documents that, as an added “bonus” would enable illegal aliens to whom those cards are issued to gain entrance into museums and other cultural landmarks in New York City. I had previously written about De Blasio’s preposterous and dangerous program in an article I wrote for CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) that was posted on February 25, 2014:
On December 1, 2013 the Huffington Post ran a worrying report:
“America Is ‘Less Safe’ Than 2 Years Ago, Intelligence Committee Chairs Say”
The report focused on statements made by Senator Dianne Feinstein, who chairs the Senate’s Intelligence Committee, when she was interviewed for CNN’s program, “State of the Union.”
Here is how the report began:
Interviewed on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said she believed that there are now more terrorists with the technological means to carry out a bombing in the U.S.
The U.S. is in greater danger of a terrorist attack than it was prior to September 11 and has less ability to prevent such aggression by Islamist radicals, key congressional intelligence leaders said Sunday.
This report ended with the following statement:
Feinstein is pushing legislation to protect NSA practices but require more congressional reporting.
Stop and consider that while she is willing to accept a loss of privacy in the name of security she blithely ignores anything that relates to the 9/11 Commission, its findings or its recommendations.
Senator Feinstein, other members of Congress and members of the administration refuse, however, to discuss a fundamental fact that is noted in the first paragraph found in the preface of the The 9/11 Commission Staff Report on Terrorist Travel:
“It is perhaps obvious to state that terrorists cannot plan and carry out attacks in the United States if they are unable to enter the country. Yet prior to September 11, while there were efforts to enhance border security, no agency of the U.S. government thought of border security as a tool in the counterterrorism arsenal. Indeed, even after 19 hijackers demonstrated the relative ease of obtaining a U.S. visa and gaining admission into the United States, border security still is not considered a cornerstone of national security policy. We believe, for reasons we discuss in the following pages, that it must be made one.”
The importance of our borders and our immigration laws cannot be overemphasized. In the war on terror and transnational gangs, they are our first line of defense and our last line of defense. They are equally important to American workers who are facing unfair competition from foreign workers, aided and abetted by the administration and advocates for “Sanctuary Cities” and Comprehensive Immigration Reform,
On June 13, 2013 I was interviewed by Neil Cavuto at Fox News on the topic:
The interview ran about 4 minutes and is worth watching.
CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) posted my commentary that asks the questions all Americans need to ask their political “representatives.” My commentary is aptly titled:
“How? Why?”
In his historic speech before the 3rd Army on May 31, 1944, General George S. Patton said, on the strategy of holding a position:
“We’re not holding anything, we’ll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.”
Pushing back against Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the same as holding position. The time has come for us to advance by demanding that our borders be made truly secure and our immigration laws be effectively administered and enforced.
Comprehensive Immigration Reform violates all of the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission but no one is willing to even consider how the lack of real border security and the lack of real integrity to the various components of the immigration system imperil national security and public safety.
The findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission must be the starting point for any discussion about immigration legislation. That commission determined that a lack of border security, including the visa process. and fraud in the immigration benefits program, enabled terrorists to enter and embed themselves in the United States, as they went about their deadly preparations.
Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today! Simply stated, the immigration laws were enacted to save lives and protect the jobs of American workers. In point of fact, our borders and our immigration laws are America’s first line of defense and last line of defense against international terrorists and transnational criminals.
It is not “Anti-Immigrant” to be “Pro-American!”
Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within. The failures of the DHS to live up to its half of the equation are undermining the efforts, valor and incredible sacrifices of Americas men and women who serve in our military!
If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!
All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!
We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.
This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!
You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!
Democracy is not a spectator sport!
Lead, follow or get out of the way!
