Hi Gang:
I have been invited to appear this evening on Neil Cavuto’s program on the Fox Business News.
His excellent program airs at 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on the Fox Business Network- I hope you will be watching!
We will be discussing the New York Times article for which I provided you a link below:
I urge you to read that article.
The administration has apparently decided that playing politics is more important than the safety and well being of our nation and our citizens. The policy of having ICE ignore illegal aliens who have no criminal convictions in this country is creating a de facto amnesty that has serious implications for national security as well as for American jobs and host of other issues. Our nation’s borders and our nation’s immigration laws are a critical line of defense for our nation- indeed, a critically important line of defense given the ongoing “War on Terror” and concerns about increasing numbers of American cities becoming infested by members of the Mexican drug cartels and other transnational criminal organizations.
Additionally, the administration has taken the unprecedented action of providing hundreds of thousands of aliens with employment authorization. Aliens who are granted employment authorization can legally compete with American workers for their jobs- this is unthinkable at a time when every politician knows that they must at least promise to create jobs if they want to be elected! Every alien who has employment authorization is a competitor for a job an American or lawful immigrant would want and, especially in this difficult economic era, need!
I do believe that it makes sense to prioritize limited resources and make no mistake, ICE has far fewer agents and other personnel than it should but it is one thing to focus the bulk of the efforts on criminal aliens and quite another to make a mockery of the immigration laws. When Napolitano engaged in that debate about whether or not running our nation’s borders is a crime or not, in point of fact an alien who runs the border for the first time is not committing a felony but is still posing a potential threat to national security by not undergoing any vetting process and by entering without leaving a record of his entry. Aliens who have been previously deported are committing a felony by running our borders!
The President is creating a de facto amnesty that will have a number of strong negative consequences.
Let’s start with national security.
Right now there are terrorists who are training in the Tri-Border region of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. It is believed that in addition to members of Hezbollah that other terrorist groups are there. Additionally, a report released by the Pentagon in 2010 indicated that there are presently Iranian “shock troops” who are living in Venezuela. My concern is that if people from the Middle East live in Latin America for a number of years- learning the language and becoming familiar with the customs of Latin America, they can easily pass themselves off as being Latin Americans. Our porous border does not prevent illegal aliens from entering our country and now with the President laying out a policy which cause ICE agents to ignore aliens who have not been convicted of crimes, the potential is that terrorists could enter the United States and by being careful to not get arrested, would be able to easily operate inside the United States until the day that they receive a call or other message calling them to action against us!

Iran boosts Qods shock troops in Venezuela
Additionally, there is no reliable way to identify illegal aliens- this is really what the term “Undocumented” means!
Robert Mueller, the head of the FBI has testified a number of times about “sleeper agents” and this is precisely what this could lead to. Think about how Iran is ramping up its nuclear program. If the United States takes action against Iran, it would be a fairly simple matter for Iranian troops to cross our southern border and take retribution.
Next, with all of the talk about joblessness by Americans, the President’s policy means that more illegal aliens are likely to feel emboldened and encouraged to run our borders. Again, the administration has made it clear that aliens will not only not be deported if they are illegally present but have not be convicted of felonies, but that they are likely going to be given employment authorization! This would put them in direct competition with American workers. Think about it- the reason that illegal aliens can be exploited and take the lower end jobs is because they are easy to exploit. Once an alien is granted employment authorization he (she) can stand in the same line as an American looking for a job! In essence we are now importing a limitless supply of more workers to compete with Americans and lawful immigrants who played by the rules!
Finally, please check out the section of law detailing why we have an inspections process in the first place.
Title 8, United States Code section 212 is section of law that enumerates the various categories of aliens who, under the Immigration and Nationality Act, are supposed to be prevented from entering the United States and are supposed to be removed if they are found here:
Here is a link to that section of law:
Please take the time to review the contents of this section of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).
Among the categories of aliens who are supposed to be kept out of the United States are aliens with dangerous communicable diseases, aliens who suffer serious mental illness and are prone to violence, aliens who are convicted felons, aliens who fugitives from justice in other countries, aliens who are human traffickers and drug smugglers, aliens who are war criminals and aliens who have committed human rights violations. Also aliens who are engaged in terrorism and espionage are among those who are, by law, supposed to be prevented from entering our country and are supposed to be removed if they manage to evade the Border Patrol and enter the United States.
Hundreds of American cities are infested by members of the Mexican drug cartels. Still more cities are infested by other transnational gangs from Latin America, Russia, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and other parts of the world! Why on earth would politicians who are supposed to look out for the best interests of our nation and our citizens so willing to ignore the immigration laws that, especially now, as we wage a “War on Terror” and a “War on Drugs” opposed to the enforcement of the one set of laws specifically designed to protect us?
