What’s In Your Home? World News’ new series looking at how we can bring jobs back to the U.S."

Hi Gang:

ABC News posted a segment online yesterday, February 28th that they have titled, Made in America:  “What’s In Your Home?  World News’ new series looking at how we can bring jobs back to the U.S.”

Here is the link to the series that would seem to be pro-American worker.

Here is my question-

If the concern of the management at ABC News is to bring jobs back to the United States, shouldn’t their concern also be that our nation enforce its immigration laws to make certain that American citizens and lawful immigrants get those jobs?  What is the benefit to binging jobs to America is the jobs are done by foreign workers- especially if those foreign workers are illegally present in our country?

I would remind you that it was just a few weeks ago when ABC News staged a make believe encounter between a make believe “square badge” (private security officer) who was actually an actor playing at being a security guard who accosted a make believe illegal alien family in a restaurant as a way of criticizing the leaders of the State of Arizona who enacted an immigration law, SB 1070 that essentially parallels the federal immigration laws that our federal government has been failing to effectively enforce for decades, leading to the immigration crisis that now confronts our nation.

On February 2, 2011 an organization known as the Media Research Center posted an article concerning the segment that was  produced by ABC News that was entitled:

“ABC Sets Up Sting Operation to Find Racism in AZ Immigration Law, Hires Actor to Play a Bigot”

Here is a link to that article:

On that same day in February, Fox News also ran a report about the deplorable tactics of ABC News, calling its report:

“ABC News Sends Actor Posing as Security Guard to Challenge AZ Illegal Immigration Law”

Here is a link to the Fox News article:

I would like to think that perhaps the folks at ABC News are finally getting it right.  During the segment for which I provided you with a link, the point was made that in the 1960’s ninety percent of the products we bought in America were made in America.

At the end of the segment ABC News’ Diane Sawyer and David Muir made some interesting points.

They said claimed that according to Moody’s, if Americans bought only one per cent more American products than they do today, that this one simple change would create 200,000 new jobs in America.  Diane Sawyer said that this would amount to Americans spending an average of an additional 18 cents on products made in America, each day.

The news report claimed that in the 1960’s about 90% of what Americans purchased had been manufactured in the United States, today only 50% of what we buy was actually made in the United States.

As I noted in the beginning of my commentary, I am glad that ABC News is apparently concerned about American Jobs.  I believe it would be a good idea for the citizens of our country to commend them for this apparent concern about American jobs.  This would be an ideal time for the folks at ABC News to be made to understand the role that Immigration law enforcement can and, in fact, must play in making certain that the citizens of our nation and those aliens who have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence get those jobs.

If jobs are created in the United States and those jobs are then taken by illegal aliens or even aliens with temporary work visas, then the citizens and lawful immigrants of our nation would not benefit through the creation of those jobs that ABC News is rightfully concerned about.

On January 26th of this year I testified before the House Subcommittee on Immigration Policy and Enforcement.  The topic of the hearing was:

“ICE Worksite Enforcement – Up To The Job?”

Here is a copy of my prepared testimony for that hearing:

I recall that many years ago when I was assigned to the INS squad that sought to arrest illegal aliens who were working in factories and other employment venues, that often the lawyers that showed up at our office to represent the illegal aliens we arrested had been paid for by the labor unions that the illegal aliens belonged to.

Back then the ILGWU (International Lady Garment Workers’ Union) ran many commercials on television where a woman was heard to sing, “Look for the union label…”

The problem was that the very label you were supposed to look for was most likely sown into the garment by an illegal alien who toiled away in a “sweat shop” under conditions that may well have given new meaning to the term “substandard!”

The first step in problem-solving is to first identify the problems and vulnerabilities and then devise strategies to overcome them.

If you find yourself to be in agreement with this commentary, I ask that you forward it to as many of your friends and family members as possible and encourage them to do the same.  We need to create a “Bucket Brigade of Truth!”

The practice of good citizenship does not end in the voting booth, it only begins there.

The large scale apathy demonstrated by citizens of this nation has emboldened elected representatives to all but ignore the needs of the average American citizen in a quest for massive campaign funds and the promises of votes to be ostensibly delivered by special interest groups. There is much that we cannot do but there is one thing that We the People absolutely must do- we must stop sitting on the sidelines!

The collective failure of We the People to get involved in make our concerns known to our politicians have nearly made the concerns of the great majority of the citizens of this nation all but irrelevant to the politicians.  I implore you to resolve this year to get involved!

I believe our nation’s is greatly benefited by the rich diversity of our people which is why I could never imagine living anywhere except New York City, arguably the most diverse city in our nation if not, in fact, the world.  However, my idea of diversity most certainly does not include members of MS-13, the Mexican drug cartels or members of other transnational gangs or members of al-Qaeda!

If this situation concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!
