"Change is Coming to America – Every Day Across our Porous Borders" – My commentary for CAPS

Hi Gang:
The immigration crisis that has been having a profound deleterious impact on virtually every challenge and threat confronting America and Americans has been, until recently, downplayed and understated by politicians who are more concerned with garnering campaign contributions and vague promises of the support of special interest groups than actually providing true leadership and integrity to actually represent the best interests of America and Americans they were elected to represent.

This need for real leadership on all levels of government, has never been greater. We live in one of our nation’s most perilous eras and our best hope is for true leadership to guide our nation through some serious challenges. This is the topic for my commentary for CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization):

On July 26, 2014 CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) posted my most recent commentary:

Of course this human tsunami did not happen overnight.  It is not only the federal government that is responsible for rolling out the “Welcome Mat” for illegal aliens thereby encouraging far more illegal aliens to head for the United States but the actions (of failures to act) by so-called “Sanctuary Cities” and “Sanctuary States” that have made it clear that they will not enforce a variety of laws that might have an impact on illegal aliens.
More than two years ago, on March 30, 2012, I wrote a commentary for CAPS:
My focus in that commentary was the increasingly lax enforcement of motor vehicle laws in California.

On December 19, 2013, Townhall.com and various other news organizations, ran a story that was, at the time, almost impossible to believe.

The Townhall.com website posted this report with the unambiguous title,

“DHS Complicit in Cartel Human Trafficking of Minors to Illegals Living in the United States”

On July 17, 2014 TV News Station CBS-5, posted this report:

“US government predicted child immigrant surge”

The report addressed a field hearing conducted by the House Committee on Homeland Security at the beginning of this month in Phoenix, Arizona.
Among the members of Congress who attended this hearing was Rep. Lou Barletta of Hazleton, PA, who challenged Secretary of Homeland Security,  Jeh Johnson, to explain if the surge of illegal aliens was unexpected, why did DHS post what was essentially a “Help Wanted” ad on January 29, 2014?
No matter what the administration knew or when they knew it, the reality is that finally, obviously responding to ever increasing incentives for illegal aliens to ignore the borders of the United States, confident that their violations of laws would go utterly unpunished by law enforcement officials on local, state and federal levers, the massive numbers of illegal aliens showing up on the southwest border of the United States became so great that no one can ignore what is actually happening.

I addressed many of the issues relating to the ongoing crisis in three articles for the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s FrontPage Magazine:

Many politicians from both the Democratic and Republican parities, seeking campaign contributions and the support of special interest groups, have for years, on innumerable occasions stood before television cameras and microphones repeating the mantra about how “undocumented immigrants” are doing the work that Americans would not do.  They have been joined by a large percentage of supposed “journalists” who eagerly made the same statements, demeaning hard working Americans whose blood, sweat and tears have, for generations built this great nation.
They then reported on the absurd unemployment numbers, currently pegged at 6.1% while blithely ignoring that nearly one hundred million Americans of working age are not working!

These are the same “journalists” and political “representatives” who insist that Comprehensive Immigration Reform would help our nation’s struggling economy although they are never made to explain how this statement squares with reality.  They never explain how adding huge numbers of foreign workers to an American labor pool of unemployed and underemployed Americans would help beleaguered American workers find work.  Nor do they explain how having more foreign workers sending ever increasing amounts of money out of the American economy help the economy.
They minimize the true significance of our immigration laws and our borders by referring to illegal aliens who evade the inspections process as being “Undocumented” while ignoring the obvious that they foreign nationals are evading the inspections process that is supposed to keep aliens who pose a threat to national security, public safety, public health that the general well-being of America and Americans out of the United States.
The obvious question is why political “leaders” who were elected to represent the citizens of the United States and adhere to their oaths of office including defending the Constitution of the United States would ignore the obvious.
Is it stupidity or a lack of moral compass?  Here is a bit of food for thought, on April 21, 2014 the Washington Times published a succinct but extremely disconcerting article, the title of which says it all:

Election Day is rapidly approaching. The concept of elections is fundamental to the democratic process- it is this process that is supposed to keep those elected to office accountable to their constituents. In theory when politicians fail to represent the majority of their constituents, they face being dumped on Election Day the way that an insubordinate employee is fired by his (her) employer.

Traditionally, many Americans have tended to not vote and even fewer Americans have ever attempted to communicate their concerns to those elected to represent them at any level of government. Americans must come to take their responsibilities far more seriously!

While the lazy and uniformed American voters are a component of the problem, demonstrations are springing up around the United States.  Even the laziest citizens are finding it impossible to understand how serious the crisis is.

Voters are coming to understand that the propaganda that politicians and supposed journalists have been spewing for far too long are blatant lies!

The importance of our borders and our immigration laws cannot be overemphasized.  In the war on terror and transnational gangs, they are our first line of defense and our last line of defense against international terrorists and transnational criminals.  They are equally important to American workers who are facing unfair competition from foreign workers, aided and abetted by the administration and advocates for “Sanctuary Cities” and Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

The starting point for any conversation or legislation concerning immigration must be the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission which determined that a lack of border security, including the visa process. and fraud in the immigration benefits program enabled terrorists to enter and embed themselves in the United States, as they went about their deadly preparations.

In his historic speech before the 3rd Army on May 31, 1944, General George S. Patton said, on the strategy of holding a position:

We’re not holding anything, we’ll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.”

Pushing back against Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the same as holding position. The time has come for us to advance by demanding that our borders be made truly secure and our immigration laws be effectively administered and enforced.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform violates all of the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission but no one is willing to even consider how the lack of real border security and the lack of real integrity to the various components of the immigration system imperil national security and public safety.

Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today!  Simply stated, the immigration laws were enacted to save lives and protect the jobs of American workers.

It is not “Anti-Immigrant” to be “Pro-American!”

Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within.  The failures of the DHS to live up to its half of the equation are undermining the efforts, valor and incredible sacrifices of Americas men and women who serve in our military!

If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!
