My interview on NewsMax-TV to discuss 6,000 foreign students who have gone "missing" in the United States"

Hi Gang:

Earlier today. Wednesday, September 3rd, I was a guest on the NewMax-TV news program, “America’s Forum” hosted by JD Hayworth to discuss yet another troubling story about yet another screwup by the DHS, an agency I have long referred to as the Department of Homeland Surrender.
Kindly forward this e-mail to as many folks as you can and ask them, in turn, to do the same.  I am attempting to create a “Bucket Brigade of Truth!”
Here is the link to my interview earlier today on NewsMax-TV:
Today the focus was that some 6,000 foreign students had gone “missing” in the United States.  ABC News reported on this in its report,
Here is how this truly disturbing report begins:

The Department of Homeland Security has lost track of more than 6,000 foreign nationals who entered the United States on student visas, overstayed their welcome, and essentially vanished — exploiting a security gap that was supposed to be fixed after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.

“My greatest concern is that they could be doing anything,” said Peter Edge, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official who oversees investigations into visa violators. “Some of them could be here to do us harm.”

Homeland Security officials disclosed the breadth of the student visa problem in response to ABC News questions submitted as part of an investigation into persistent complaints about the nation’s entry program for students.

ABC News found that immigration officials have struggled to keep track of the rapidly increasing numbers of foreign students coming to the U.S. — now in excess of one million each year. The immigration agency’s own figures show that 58,000 students overstayed their visas in the past year. Of those, 6,000 were referred to agents for follow-up because they were determined to be of heightened concern.

“They just disappear,” said Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. “They get the visas and they disappear.”

Coburn said since the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, 26 student visa holders have been arrested in the U.S. on terror-related charges.

Here are a few “take-aways:”
By not looking for the majority of students who go missing, we send a clear message, violations of visas are not aggressively pursued.  Any aspiring illegal aliens just needs to enter the United States and ignore the terms of their admission.
Second- consider how much damage just 19 terrorists inflicted on the United States on September 11, 2001.  Now the DHS is concerned about 6,000
This is hardly a new problem.
I have testified before well over a dozen Congressional hearings in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.  Perhaps the highest profile hearing I for which I have been called to testify was conducted on March 19, 2002 by the House Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Immigration and Claims, on the topic:

“INS’S MARCH 2002 NOTIFICATION OF APPROVAL OF CHANGE OF STATUS FOR PILOT TRAINING FOR TERRORIST HIJACKERS MOHAMMED ATTA AND MARWAN AL-SHEHHI”

This hearing is the hearing I referenced during my interview today.

This hearing was covered by C-SPAN and the C-SPAN video every member of Congress should be required to watch it. It is unfathomable how twelve years after that hearing was conducted into one of the most outrageous screw-ups that all of the promises to address the failures of the system continue to plaque the very same system that would be required to adjudicate the applications filed by unknown millions of illegal illegal aliens in the United States under “Comprehensive Immigration Reform.”

Furthermore, the DHS is a largely dysfunctional agency that, from its inception, was an agency hobbled by its very structure that de-emphasized the effective enforcement of our immigration laws.
On August 25, 2014 FrontPage Magazine posted my article:
Holding Congress accountable.
My article provided an overview of how the DHS was, in my judgement, an administrative leviathan that rather than enhance the enforcement of our critically important immigration laws, found all sorts of impediments were created that made the effective enforcement of those laws far more difficult.  I have often noted that “A camel is a horse designed by a committee- it ain’t pretty and smells worse!”
Here is some background about JD Hayworth:

With JD Hayworth

To provide a bit of background- JD was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives when, in November 2001, I accepted an invitation from then Congressman Tom Tancredo to provide testimony to the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus which Tom chaired at the time.  The topic for the hearing was the failures of the immigration system that enabled the 9/11 Terrorists to enter the United States and embed themselves in the United States as they went about their deadly preparations.  JD was a member of that caucus and he attended that hearing.  It is always great joining him on his television program on NewsMax-TV.

I hope you will be listening.

On June 13, 2013 I was interviewed by Neil Cavuto on the topic:

The interview runs about 4 minutes and is worth watching.

The importance of our borders and our immigration laws cannot be overemphasized.  In the war on terror and transnational gangs, they are our first line of defense and our last line of defense. They are equally important to American workers who are facing unfair competition from foreign workers, aided and abetted by the administration and advocates for “Sanctuary Cities” and Comprehensive Immigration Reform,
In his historic speech before the 3rd Army on May 31, 1944, General George S. Patton said, on the strategy of holding a position:

We’re not holding anything, we’ll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.”

Pushing back against Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the same as holding position. The time has come for us to advance by demanding that our borders be made truly secure and our immigration laws be effectively administered and enforced.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform violates all of the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission but no one is willing to even consider how the lack of real border security and the lack of real integrity to the various components of the immigration system imperil national security and public safety.

The findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission must be the starting point for any discussion about immigration legislation.  That commission determined that a lack of border security, including the visa process. and fraud in the immigration benefits program, enabled terrorists to enter and embed themselves in the United States, as they went about their deadly preparations.

Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today!  Simply stated, the immigration laws were enacted to save lives and protect the jobs of American workers.  In point of fact, our borders and our immigration laws are America’s first line of defense and last line of defense against international terrorists and transnational criminals.
It is not “Anti-Immigrant” to be “Pro-American!”

Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within.  The failures of the DHS to live up to its half of the equation are undermining the efforts, valor and incredible sacrifices of Americas men and women who serve in our military!
If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!
