On the radio this evening- February 2nd to discuss Operation Fast & Furious on the Curtis Sliwa Show

Hi Gang:

Later today, Thursday, February 2nd, at 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, I am scheduled to be a guest on the Curtis Sliwa Radio Show that is broadcast from the heart of Manhattan from the Empire State Building.  I will be joining Curtis for an entire hour to discuss the ATF fiasco known as “Operation Fast & Furious” as a result of which an estimated two thousand fully functioning weapons including AK-47s and .50 cal weapons were provided to members of the Mexican drug cartels in the name of an investigation into gun running.

There have been a number of hearings conducted into this outrageous example of malfeasance that went on over an extended period of time.  One of the apparent victims of this so-called investigation was Brian Terry, a member of the United States Border Patrol’s elite BORTAC unit who was killed in December of 2010 as he stood watch on our border that is supposed to separate the United States from Mexico and the extreme violence that has been playing out in that country that has been thrown into utter chaos as various drug cartels wage war on each other and on the various elements of the Mexican government for control over the lucrative drug smuggling trade.  Brian Terry was a true American hero!  He was not only a member of the United States Border Patrol but a member of our armed forces who had been deployed to the Middle East.

Would that our nation’s leaders be as committed to the safety and security of this nation and its citizens as Brian was!

It should be noted that at least two of our nation’s members of Congress, Representative Darrell Issa and United States Senator Chuck Grassley have been leading the charge in conducting hearings into Operation Fast & Furious and are worthy of the support of the citizens of our nation!  In fact, today, Attorney General Holder is scheduled to appear before yet another hearing conducted by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that Rep. Issa chairs.

CBS News and other news organizations have recently reported that Brian Terry’s family has initiated a lawsuit against the federal government in connection with his murder.

Here is the CBS News account of the $25 million lawsuit that has been filed:

Family of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry sues U.S. government

Today, the parents of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry filed a lawsuit
against the US Department of Justice and its Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco
and Firearms (ATF). The lawsuit seeks $25 million dollars in
compensation for Terry’s death.

Terry was gunned down
Dec. 14, 2010 in Arizona near the Mexico border, in an attack by illegal
aliens armed with AK-47-type rifles. The rifles were part of ATF’s then
secret operation Fast and Furious, which allowed thousands of weapons
to cross the border into Mexico in an attempt to lead to the “big fish”
of a Mexican drug cartel. The controversial practice is called
“gunwalking.”

Terry’s murder led some ATF agents who
objected to their own agency’s gunwalking, to blow the whistle to
Congress and CBS News. Since then, the Justice Department has
acknowledged gunwalking occurred; banned it in the future; and asked the
Inspector General to investigate.

Terry’s parents are
also suing an Arizona gun store that cooperated with ATF in Fast and
Furious by agreeing to sell weapons to suspicious buyers that would
otherwise have been turned away. Several gun store owners who worked
with ATF in gunwalking operations expressed concern over the tactics,
but told Congressional investigators they felt forced to go along with
the plan because ATF regulates the gun shops.

Meanwhile, even as increasing numbers of United States cities become infested by members of the pernicious Mexican drug cartels and other transnational gangs and criminal organizations, Janet Napolitano, the Secretary of the DHS, an agency I have come to refer to as the Department of Homeland Surrender, insists that our borders have never been more secure!

We will have much to discuss this evening!

In the very unlikely event that you are unfamiliar with Curtis, he is the founder of a civilian community-based volunteer organization known as the Guardian Angels which acts to protect the residents of communities.  His organization’s website is:
